NAR, along with the later living team within Nexus Planning, were commissioned to carry out a Specialised Housing Study relating to the Need for Accommodation for Older People and People with Disabilities on behalf of Oadby & Wigston Borough Council in Leicestershire.

The first stage of the study identified the current and future housing requirements of older and disabled people in both quantitative and qualitative terms, looking specifically at the supply and demand for bungalows.

The study then used the results of this research to develop new planning policies and guidance relating to specialist forms of housing.

The study will be a key evidence-based document for the current Local Plan Review and will form a material consideration in the determination of planning applications relating to accommodation for older and disabled people.
