Last week’s release of the 2016-based household projections should have signalled the starting gun for being able to calculate the Standard Methodology minimum housing need figures for Local Plan’s submitted to the Secretary of State after 24 January 2019 – the revised NPPF (2018) transitional arrangements longstop date. However, days before the household projections were released the Government confirmed that it would be revisiting the Standard Methodology approach to ensure it aligns with the Government housing delivery commitments.
