NAR was employed by the Barbican, one of London’s iconic cultural destinations, to understand how the underperforming food & beverage offer of the Barbican might be reinvigorated to attract a wider audience.
Working together with place-making consultants, we utilised customer data from the Barbican itself and analysed footfall data from mobile API technology, in order to project likely demand for future spaces based on emerging trends in food & beverage offer, as well as population and expenditure growth within the projected catchment area.
Our demographics and economics work has been included in Phase One of the £191m renewal programme, providing an informative part of the five-year project as the Barbican focuses on critical repairs and upgrades to secure the future of this internationally renowned, grade-II listed site.
