The site lies within the Wythenshawe Masterplan area, forming part of the wider regeneration of Wythenshawe town centre. Formerly occupied by a vacant office building, the site was identified to deliver a high-quality residential scheme of 125 apartments, to be managed by Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG).
We led a proactive series of pre-application meetings which helped support the timely determination of the application. These were used to identify the key planning considerations, test emerging proposals and to establish the clearest possible route through the planning process.
We closely aligned with our clients and the design and technical teams to ensure a robust planning application was made. Following submission, we maintained active dialogue with Manchester City Council and the project team to keep the application on track.
Planning permission was secured for the redevelopment of Alpha House in Wythenshawe town centre, marking a significant milestone for the wider regeneration of the area. The approved scheme will see the former office building Alpha House redeveloped to provide 125 one- and two-bedroom apartments, delivering high-quality, much-needed affordable homes that respond to both local need and wider growth ambitions.
