Richard is a chartered town planner who has substantial experience in advising both private and public sector clients on retail and town centre use development.
He is experienced in securing planning permission for complex retail and commercial proposals. In doing so, he is able to draw on the full range of retail planning skills, including the modelling of retail impacts and the undertaking of sequential assessments.
He has led teams to deliver numerous retail and town centre studies, advising local authorities on retail need and capacity, and the most appropriate locations for future growth. He has successfully defended such evidence at Examination. He also advises local authority clients on proposals’ compliance with relevant retail and town centre planning policy.
He has spoken on retail and town centre planning matters at RTPI seminars, and has provided Expert Witness services to the Courts and at Inquiry.
