We have secured committee resolution to grant for a mixed use development at 39 – 41 Surbiton Road, in Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames (RBKUT) on behalf of Oak Narwana LLP. Recommended for approval by the RBKUT Planning Department, the Kingston Town Planning Sub Committee unanimously voted to uphold the Council’s recommendation (subject to conditions and a s106 legal agreement) at their December 2020 committee.
The scheme will deliver 291sqm of flexible retail and office floor space at ground floor level, with 9 residential units above. All residential units are dual aspect and will provide high quality living accommodation, with access to private amenity space, and a large communal courtyard at first floor. Four of the nine units are wheelchair accessible, and the remaining five units would be wheelchair adaptable.
The development was carefully designed by TAS Architects, with the proposals respecting and retaining the locally listed building’s existing façade to Surbiton Road, and creating a new, visually interesting and active frontage onto Southsea Road.
