19th August 2019
Nexus Planning has announced an expansion of its London team, with Nik Smith joining the company as an Associate Director.
Nik is a chartered town planner and has provided town planning consultancy support and advice to clients with a particular focus on assisting local planning authorities on complex and/or controversial planning applications and appeal hearings and public inquiries.
Nik’s experience includes working as a Planning Inspector for the Planning Inspectorate where he determined planning appeals. He has also provided advice to local planning authorities and communities on matters relating to the HS2 railway line, as well as providing development management and appeal support to a range of LPAs. He joins Nexus Planning with a clear understanding of how partnership working and a project management focus assists in delivering strategic development sites of all scales.
Rob Pearson, Executive Director and Co-lead of Nexus Planning’s London Office, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Nik to the Nexus Planning team. Nik comes to our team with a wealth of both public and private sector experience. He will offer clients insight into the latest thought processes at the Inspectorate, as well as complementing our existing and wide-ranging offer to the public sector. His move to us is timely as it coincides with our move to brand new offices at Holmes House at Waterloo. This is an exciting stage in the continued growth of Nexus Planning in London”.
Nik Smith added: “I am very pleased to be joining Nexus Planning at this exciting time in its growth and I am looking forward to supporting new and existing clients, including those in the public sector.”
