Resolution to grant secured for an outline planning application in Keyworth
12th June 2019
Nexus Planning, on behalf of CEG, has successfully secured a resolution to grant outline planning permission for up to 151 dwellings after Rushcliffe Borough Council unanimously voted in favour of the proposal.
The application site is included as a ‘preferred housing site’ in the Keyworth Neighbourhood Plan and is proposed for Green Belt release through the emerging Local Plan Part 2. Considering its current location within the Green Belt, the application was accompanied by a Very Special Circumstances report, which clearly demonstrated that the material considerations in favour of the proposed development outweigh any perceived harm to the Green Belt.
The proposal, which includes 20 affordable units, open space, allotments and a children’s play area will provide significant benefits to the Keyworth area and wider Borough.
Due to its Green Belt status, the application has been referred to the Planning Casework Unit. Work will now continue to secure a suitable S.106 agreement.
