NPPF July 2018
27th July 2018
It appeared to be touch and go as to whether the Government would deliver on its commitment to get the NPPF 2018 out before summer recess, but with only hours to go, it finally emerged. Notably, and unlike the draft, it was quietly slipped out without any fanfare over how this set of planning policy changes hold the key to solving the housing crisis.
Overall, the proposed structure of the final NPPF 2018 remains broadly the same as the draft, which maybe one reason why is was afforded such a low key launch – there’s no big new announcements to make. Compared to the old NPPF the new version follows a more logical approach, and includes elements from the Planning Practice Guidance and relevant case law.
