She has been involved in all aspects of the planning process, including undertaking commercially focused planning appraisals, making representation to local plans, preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals. She has also acted as Expert Witness.

She possesses extensive experience in formulating planning strategies, coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams at pre / post-application submission stages, and negotiating acceptable permissions, planning conditions and legal agreements with local planning authorities.

As well as general (development control) planning, she also specialises in planning for “town centre uses”. Katya is experienced in the preparation of evidence-based Retail and Leisure Studies for local planning authorities, preparing Masterplans and Development Prospectuses; advising private sector clients on their assets; managing and co-ordinating market research and consultation exercises; and carrying out impact and sequential site assessments.

Katya is a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
