We were appointed by Ashford & St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust and Surrey & Borders Partnership NHS to develop and obtain planning permission for a renewed campus Masterplan for St Peter’s Hospital. As a result of incremental development over the past 60 years, St. Peter’s Hospital campus suffered from a poor quality environment, uninviting approaches and severe parking problems. In addition, many of the buildings were no longer suitable for modern healthcare provision.
We led on the preparation of a strategic Masterplan that rationalised the Site through the demolition of redundant accommodation, the development of new healthcare buildings and improvements to car parking, public transport and landscaping. We undertook this process within the context of Green Belt policy, establishing a series of development zones which set specific criteria in terms of footprint, building height and parking provision.
Planning permission was successfully secured and elements of the Masterplan scheme are now being implemented.
