We were appointed by Cheshire West and Chester Council and Neston Town Council to prepare an Economic Plan for Neston. The purpose of the study was to review current and previous strategies, identify key issues and highlight areas of potential.
Throughout the process we held consultations with key stakeholders to ensure the project was as inclusive as possible. This involved attending meetings with representatives of Cheshire West and Chester Council, Neston Town Council, local community groups and other stakeholders. This formed part of the qualitative assessment of previous initiatives and garnered support and understanding for the final strategy set out in the Economic Plan. The project was supported by in-depth socio-economic analysis, enabling us to carefully identify threats and opportunities particular to Neston, whilst also challenging some previously held misconceptions.
The Economic Plan successfully reflected the core objectives set out in the Local Plan and neighbourhood strategy. As part of the refreshed action plan, the exercise prioritised a series of core projects and established short, medium and longer term initiatives to safeguard sustainable growth in the local area.
