We obtained detailed planning permission on behalf of Linton Reid, for a 12,000 sq m commercial development in the London Borough of Wandsworth. The scheme, designed by Jo Cowen Architects, extends up to 10-storeys and consists of light industrial floorspace and office floorspace aimed at the SME, tech and creative sectors.
We had to overcome the restrictive Strategic Industrial Location designation to secure the SME/office floorspace, through comprehensive research of on site and surrounding land uses and a well-argued justification using emerging local policy while also having to overcome the strategic concerns of the Mayor of London.
The successful outcome was also a result of devising an appropriate provision of managed or affordable workspace to align with the emerging employment sectors in the Nine Elms Opportunity Area.
Planning permission has been secured from the London Borough of Wandsworth and the Mayor of London within a relatively compressed timeframe.
