We were appointed to undertake a study on the delivery of key infrastructure required in Greater Gainsborough until 2036. Working closely with West Lindsey District Council (WLDC), Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) and other key stakeholders, we were tasked with identifying a clear strategy to accommodate significant levels of housing-led growth, including the allocation of 4,600 new homes.
We worked closely with client and stakeholder teams to take an inclusive and holistic view of growth. To this end, the team not only approached the study in terms of how to deliver housing, but also in terms of what Gainsborough will need to provide to ensure that any growth is sustainable. In order to safeguard the future of the strategy, we identified key infrastructure requirements, conducted a high-level area regeneration strategy of prospective housing sites and engaged in extensive consultation with local landowners.
The report has enabled WLDC, LCC and other public and private sector organisations to plan and deliver Gainsborough’s future housing and infrastructure requirements, and to support the business case for investment.
