We were instructed by Countryside Properties to prepare and submit a detailed planning application for 80 dwellings on the site of the former Durban Mill in Hollinwood, Oldham.
Working closely with stakeholders throughout the application process, we were able to swiftly and efficiently resolve issues relating to highways, design, viability and ecology. In particular, we co-operated with Planning Officers to successfully minimise pre-commencement conditions on the consent. Prior to the submission of the application, we also undertook an extensive public consultation exercise with local Councillors and residents.
Through the preparation of a detailed Planning Statement, we successfully justified the loss of employment uses by demonstrating that the Site had been unsuccessfully marketed and that it was no longer fit for the needs of modern business. This enabled Countryside Properties to start redeveloping the Site at the earliest opportunity.
