We were appointed as part of a consultant team to produce a Development Framework for Northwich Town Centre. A key element of the Development Framework was to enable the delivery of the 8.3 hectare Barons Quay development; a retail-led, mixed-use development identified by the Vale Royal Local Plan.
Through the use of robust planning, regeneration and communication strategies, we worked to bring the Barons Quay development, along with other sites, through a delivery programme over a 5-10 year time period. More specifically, we were involved in delivering a positive Planning and Development Framework that would be supported by the Local Planning Authority, key stakeholders and senior Council Officers.
The Framework, designed to facilitate the regeneration of the town centre, was endorsed by the Council Executive in 2011. The scheme has been designed to accommodate approximately 40,000 sqm of shopping and leisure space, along with a multiplex cinema, significant levels of parking, a large food store, restaurants, cafes and public realm improvements, totalling around £80m of investment.
