Scheme: Planning Application for Health Campus Masterplan
As a result of incremental development over the past 60 years, St. Peter’s hospital campus suffered from a poor quality environment, uninviting approaches and severe parking problems. In addition, many of the buildings are no longer suitable for modern healthcare provision.
The Nexus Planning team led on the preparation of a strategic masterplan that rationalised the site through the demolition of redundant accommodation, the development of new healthcare buildings, improvements to car parking, public transport and landscaping.
Planning permission was granted within the context of green belt policy. It established a series of development zones which set specific criteria in terms of footprint, building height and parking provision. Elements of the masterplan scheme are now being implemented.
