Nexus Planning is retained by E.ON Climate and Renewables to advise on planning and related matters in relation to their developing portfolio of biomass fuelled, renewable energy plants in the UK.
Nexus Planning is currently advising on the Blackburn Meadows Renewable Energy Plant in Sheffield, which is under construction. Following the grant of outline planning the Nexus Planning team has continued to steer the proposals through the planning process, including managing the submission of the reserved matters application.
Other key tasks have included:
- Negotiating the S.106 agreement
- Brokering the establishment of a community fund
- Working with the City Council and other partners on the potential for CHP
- Submitting a full application to facilitate the establishment of a CHP network feed at the site
The team also managed the planning process on behalf of E.ON Climate and Renewables which saw planning approval granted for the nationally significant Portbury Biomass Plant at Royal Portbury Docks, Bristol.
