The Project

We were appointed by YPP Investments to submit a planning application for the redevelopment of a high-profile former public house located along Harrow Road in Westminster to deliver much needed Purpose Built Student Housing (PBSH).

Our Solutions

The scheme incorporates a significant increase in floorspace to provide 34 new bedspaces and communal space, whilst retaining the primary facades and providing a new commercial use at ground floor level.
The planning strategy required a detailed and sensitive approach in order to overcome the Local Authority’s initial objections and to gain the support of a number of local resident amenity groups, Neighbourhood Planning Forums and Local Councillors.

The Outcome

Full planning permission was obtained with Westminster’s Planning Applications Sub-Committee voting unanimously to approve the plans to provide student housing in an area of high demand.
